The excitement surrounding the Sanford International golf event offers the Sioux Falls community yet another opportunity to shine in the national spotlight. ESPN coverage of the event, along with exposure from a host of other media outlets including the Golf Channel and major news organizations, puts Sioux Falls and its many attributes on the radar of a targeted national golf audience—an audience with connections to major industries, financial institutions and key decision makers. In addition, we have the opportunity to showcase Sioux Falls to potential talent and workforce audiences, highlighting our superior quality of life and livability.
The Sioux Falls Development Foundation will be capitalizing on this opportunity, tying into the event as a marketing strategy targeting site selectors and business writers. These invited guests will have the opportunity to view the Sanford International and to meet local leadership in a relaxed environment with all the amenities.
Development Foundation staff will be hosting several business writers from major publications including Inc. magazine, Bloomberg’s, AgTech publications and Midwest Living. Our time with these writers will be spent showing them our business opportunities and available sites, inviting them to experience our quality of life, meeting with business and civic leaders and making the case for Sioux Falls as the best region for business and talent to locate.
We will also be hosting three site selectors representing over 75 potential business opportunities for our region. Site selectors are professionals who work directly with national and international companies considering expanding or relocating their companies to a new area. Site selectors are typically the first point of contact for the Development Foundation in identifying prospects for location to Sioux Falls. By showing these professionals our quality of life, cultural amenities, business opportunities and aggressive community leadership, Sioux Falls gains exposure and credibility in the eyes of each site selector—giving us a “leg up” on the competition.
We’ll have fun but we will also be serving a purpose—placing the Sioux Falls region in the national spotlight for business recruitment, talent recruitment and community pride.
