Hiring: Talent Development Coordinator

 

Position Summary: This team member will work in collaboration with area businesses and regional universities, technical schools and community colleges to source, attract and match talented students with available business and trade internship opportunities in the Sioux Falls Region. The position requires a high skill degree of communication, organization and coordination of resources and programs to match students with available programs and internships within the region. In addition, this team member will assist with the implementation of other talent recruitment programs within the Foundation to maximize talent recruitment.

 

Controls Over the Position: The position is directly accountable to the Vice President of Talent & Workforce Development. This position is 40 hours/week with some overtime including evenings. Irregular work hours and travel outside of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm may be required.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • With the direction from the Vice President of Talent and Workforce, assist in research, design and implement recruitment strategies and methods for recruiting talent in multiple disciplines from regional universities, community colleges and technical schools.
  • Maintain relationships with universities, tech schools and community colleges through their career centers, student organizations, department heads, faculty and other recruitment networks to develop relationships with area businesses for internship programs.
  • With direction from the Vice President for Talent and Workforce, identify businesses in the region needing interns in specific skill areas and coordinate internship matches from our database for those companies.
  • Source students to register and participate in the Sioux Falls Development Foundations talent programming (Talent Tours, Talent Now, Talent Draft, Talent Rebound).
  • Manage all administrative tasks including updating recruitment databases, intern profiles, applicant documentation, intern screening and initial candidate interviews.
  • Coordinate with Foundation staff to assist in the facilitation of talent events and social media outreach.

Special Skills

  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent Organizational, Scheduling and Planning Skills
  • Knowledge of basic financial and bookkeeping helpful
  • Pleasant, personable and able to freely communicate with diverse clientele

Qualifications:

  • The person must be a self-starter and able to work without extensive oversight.
  • Previous work experience in sales, marketing or recruitment is desired.
  • An understanding of hiring requirements and Applicant Tracking Systems
  • The ability and willingness to travel is required.
  • Charismatic with excellent interpersonal communication skills and very comfortable networking and speaking to groups.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills are desired. The ability to create attractive, clear, concise documents and presentations is preferred.

Compensation:

This position is considered as an entry level position however the compensation and benefits package is above market and open to those with 2-3 years of experience with additional compensation.
